Carrie arrived in Minneapolis 2 days before me, and left today, Monday, by train for Seattle with her bike in a box. She is thinking of a west coast ride for next year.
I left Minneapolis yesterday, Sunday, at 6:27 am, after a breakfast of bacon and eggs, because I wanted to get some miles in before the sun got too hot.
It turned out to be an overcast day, with a couple of short showers. The MRT signs reappeared in the city, and there were lots of bike paths to follow for more than 20 miles.
The rivers are still high from all the rain last week, and lots of areas are flooded.
The day was the right temperature for biking, with some tailwind, and I kept extending the ride until I finally ended up in the Travelodge in St. Cloud about 4 pm, for 72 miles for the day.
I figure if the riding is good, I might as well go, and the forecast was for a headwind the next day.
